One-to-One Ceramic Tutoring
Feb - March 2025, 12-13 year olds
I worked with a small group of students to plan and produce self-initiated ceramic artworks. I taught them hand-building techniques such as coil, pinch and slab. Additionally, I guided them in writing artist statements that convey the influence behind their work and why it is important, imparting high level reflective skills that will enable them to achieve higher grades at GCSE level.

Cyanotypes: Printing and Manipulating
Apr – May 2024, 11-15 year olds
Over 4 hourly sessions, I led workshops of 50 Art Scholar students at a secondary school in North London where they learnt how to print cyanotypes. They were encouraged to experiment – creating pigments with spices, making texture with chemicals, and toning their prints in tea/coffee. Afterwards, they manipulated their prints with collage, drawing, or sewing to explore new ways of image-making. We finished the project by reflecting on their work in smaller groups to develop critical thinking skills.

Illustration: Character Design
Jun - Jul 2024, 11 - 15 year olds
In this illustration project, secondary school students developed their design and presentation skills. Working on character designs, they were encouraged to explore world-building and narrative within their drawings. These workshops were held in preparation for a visit from the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, which incorporated collage elements in the penultimate workshop.

Exquisite Corpse: Art Dolls
Sept - Present, 11-14 year olds
Currently, I am working on a 2D to 3D making project with students at a North London school, bringing exquisite corpses to life. They are learning new skills in sewing, pattern cutting, and embroidery as they translate drawing to sculpture. I have challenged them to learn resourcefulness by scavenging for materials around the studio.

Prop-Making: The Wiz
Feb – Apr 2024, 11-15 year olds
For a North London secondary school musical performance of ‘The Wiz’, I organised the production of props by 60 students. I led workshops to make backdrops, corn fields, crows, antique books, a massive key, poppies and yellow brick roads amongst other things. It challenged the children to learn new making and problem solving skills, as well as to how to work towards a deadline.
