Hathor I (2025)

Terracotta, selenite crystal, single-board computer and monitor.

Hathor I  is an icon of the Ancient Egyptian mother goddess, seen here protecting a screen attached to a raspberry pi computer, as she would protect a pharaoh. In some statues, the pharaoh is held by the gods inside of a tiny box, contained by the waters of the sky. In my practice, I am interested in the connections between moving image, dream and infant consciousness as they emerge from the primordial waters of chaos.
